'www.tgiadd.co.uk' domain name registered

TGIADD has now launched it's online presence from our own domain location, www.tgiadd.co.uk. The old web area still exists, but will be redeveloped as a 'gallery site' for non-commercial/personal projects. This should now enable TGIADD to showcase some of the more dynamic aspects of web page serving, such as building web pages from databases and server-side scripting.

TGIADD can create simple infographics to help get over a technical issue, or handle more creative briefs. Recently, TGIADD was asked to create some herbal text illustrations for Cinzano. Colourful illustrations of yarrow, gentians and marjoram and many others resulted. These herbal letters adorned the companys' Tasting Shed at Gardeners World Live 2004, a project put together by Leith-based marketing company Clarity (www.clarity3.co.uk).

TGIADD can create animated 'gif' files for simple uses that are independent from browser plugins. If something with more interaction is required, or where the bandwidth of graphic real estate is an issue, then Flash animation could be the answer. Most browsers come complete with the appropriate plugin installed, and with alternative content in place, a Flash presentation can be an enhancement to existing web pages.

IOM Consulting enhanced their new HQ announcement with an animated presentation produced in Flash by TGIADD, (see at www.iom-world.org/inform/newbuild.html).

web development offerings

XHTML, PHP, PERL - lots of acronyms litter web site creation these days, and web site creation is not as simple as it used to be. TGIADD have not been left behind in the expansion of web site scripting, and recently helped client IOM Consulting rebuild their web presence using dynamic page serving via PHP (www.iom-world.org).

At a simple scale PHP allows a sites' content pages to have a common header (with navigation) and footer portions that are put together as single web pages - easing maintenance of navigation, and can use a template to extend the site. PHP can also be used to control access to whole or portions of web sites via the use of passwords and secure scripting. Content management can be eased via integration of PHP enabled web pages to databases. The database is amended and updated, and the website rebuilds automatically.
